EMMA WALKERDEQAS Organiser Dr Emma Walker is a Consultant Clinical Scientist at North West London Pathology and is also the Trust Lead Healthcare Scientist for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Emma has a Masters in Clinical Biochemistry, a PhD in Molecular Pathology and holds FRCPath. In her clinical role, Emma is responsible for the specialist endocrine services, including several Supra Regional Assay (SAS) accredited endocrine assays. She is currently leading on a number of initiatives to streamline and automate the steroid hormones service in the LC-MS/MS laboratory. Emma is also the scheme organiser for the International Vitamin D EQA Scheme based at Charing Cross hospital. Emma has been organisational Lead Healthcare Scientist for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust since 2016, providing professional leadership for the 1200 strong healthcare science workforce across the Trust. In this role she is working to raise the profile of healthcare science both within the Trust and beyond. |

LAURA BRIGGSDEQAS Administrator Laura Briggs is a registered Clinical Scientist and has a particular interest in endocrinology and vitamin D analysis. Laura completed her BSc in Biochemistry at Imperial College London in 2017 and has recently obtained her MSc in Clinical Science (Clinical Biochemistry) from the University of Manchester. Laura and Jack are currently sharing the role of DEQAS administrator which involves the day-to-day running of the EQA scheme. |

JACK WHITEWOODDEQAS Administrator Jack Whitewood is a registered Clinical Scientist with a Biomedical Science undergraduate degree, and he recently gained his MSc in Clinical Biochemistry as part of the Scientist Training Programme. It was during this time he developed a keen interest in vitamin D metabolism and homeostasis; as well as the performance of different analytical methods for the measurement of vitamin D and its metabolites. |

MELONY DE SOUZADEQAS Assistant Melony De Souza is an Associate Practitioner who supports the day-to-day running of DEQAS. Melony holds a Masters degree in Biotechnology from the University of Goa, India. She has previously worked in the tumour marker, bone marker and calprotectin laboratories to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of gestational trophoblastic disease, osteoporosis, Paget's disease, small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and inflammatory bowel disease. Melony also gained experience in the fields of biochemistry, haematology, bacteriology, virology and parasitology while working as a Senior Medical Technologist at the Pathological and Research Laboratory in India. |
